Kelly C. Parks

Attorney / Founder

Kelly Parks is an Ohio native, born and raised in Northwest Ohio. In 2002 he moved to Columbus to attend The Ohio State University and then Capital Law School. He graduated Capital Law School with his Juris Doctorate in 2011 and was admitted to the Ohio Bar as a practicing attorney later that year. Since then, Kelly has stayed in private practice in the areas of family law, probate law, and estate & trust planning. He has helped hundreds of families through difficult times, and Kelly and the team at Parks Legal pride themselves on helping people in need from all walks of life. Kelly is also a committed ally and advocate for members of the LGBTQ+ community and actively participates in initiatives through organizations such as Pride and Equality Ohio. He is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, The Ohio Bar Foundation, the Columbus Bar Association, Equality Ohio, and is a regular attendee of the Ohio Adoption Law Roundtable.

Kelly and his spouse, Valerie, have a son, Atticus with whom Kelly loves to play baseball, hike, and play videogames. When he’s not practicing law or spending time with his family, Kelly enjoys handcrafting wooden furniture and reading.

Michael Hansen

Office Manager

Michael Hansen is the office manager for Parks Legal, LLC. He received his Master’s Degree from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and his Bachelor’s Degree from The Ohio State University. Michael is also a US Army veteran. When he isn’t working, Michael enjoys climbing, backpacking, and providing inclusive firearms safety training to historically underrepresented communities in the shooting sports.

Ben Bloir

Paralegal

Ben is an administrative assistant and paralegal at Parks Legal, LLC. He has been a member of Kelly’s staff since 2022, when he started as an intern and developed his passion for legal work. He studied history at The Ohio State University and graduated with a combined BA/MA in 2024, applying his attention to detail and communication skills to his new job in the legal field. Ben is a central Ohio native and enjoys hiking, reading, and tabletop games in his spare time.

Meredith Spano

Intake Specialist

A lifelong Ohioan, Meredith graduated from The Ohio State University with Bachelor of Arts degrees in International Studies and Arabic. Prior to joining Parks Legal, LLC, she spent three years as a Legal Assistant working in Immigration Law. Outside of work, she enjoys trying global cuisine, biking, and exploring central Ohio with her children.

Rachel Hansen

Paralegal

Rachel is an Ohio native with ties to Northeast Ohio and moved to Columbus nearly 20 years ago. She graduated from Capital University and continues to participate in the choral program there. Rachel began working in the legal field in 2017 and has experience in criminal defense, appellate, juvenile, family law and probate matters. She has worked exclusively in probate and family law with central Ohio county courts since 2020. When she’s not working at Parks Legal, LLC, Rachel spends her time sewing, online-gaming, or gardening.
